New York's Annual Commericial Bluefish Quota Harvested, Fishery Closes December 2

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
December 1, 2016

The 2016 commercial bluefish quota allocated to New York has been harvested, and the fishery is closed effective 0001 hours, December 2, 2016.

Fishermen: Vessels holding Federal commercial bluefish permits may not land bluefish in New York for the remainder of the calendar year. The state of New York has also closed the state fishery to vessels and dealers. Vessel owners issued Federal permits must continue to complete and submit vessel logbooks. bluefish

Dealers: Dealers issued Federal permits for bluefish may not purchase bluefish from federally permitted vessels that land in New York for the remainder of the calendar year. Federally permitted dealers must also continue to report all other fish purchased.
