Correction: Gulf of Maine Cod Limit Increase for Small Vessels in Common Pool

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
March 22, 2017

On March 16, 2017, NOAA increased the common pool Gulf of Maine (GOM) cod and haddock trip limits. However, we incorrectly stated that the small vessel category trip limit of GOM cod was unchanged. To correct this error, we are increasing the small vessel category trip limit for GOM cod from 25 lb per trip to 100 lb per tip. Vessels in the small vessel category are still held to the combined 300-lb trip limit for cod, haddock, and yellowtail flounder.

Vessels that have crossed the Vessel Monitoring System demarcation line prior to March 22, 2017, may land the new trip limit for that trip.

For more details, read the notice as filed this afternoon in the Federal Register and the permit holder bulletin.
