Framework 46 and Environmental Assessment

NOAA announced approval of revisions to the Northeast Multispecies Fishery Management Plan (Framework 46) which increases the haddock incidental catch cap for the herring fishery, revises accountability measures to protect haddock once that cap is obtained and revises reporting requirements for herring fishing vessels.

All measures are effective on September 14, 2011, except for the requirement for limited access herring vessels to report all species kept by haddock stock area via their vessel monitoring system catch reports, which will be effective September 28, 2011.
