The commercial scup quota and the possession limit per trip for the 2017 Winter II Period (November 1-December 31) have been increased due to the rollover of unused quota from the Winter I period.

Keep in mind that when the state and Federal possession limits are different, the most restrictive requirement applies.

In May 2017, the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council voted to adjust the start date of the scup Winter II quota period.  However, this adjustment is not yet effective, and does not impact the 2017 fishing year.  If the Council’s proposed action is approved, the new Winter II quota period start date would be implemented beginning in fishing year 2018.
