Daily Haddock Landing Limit Adjustment for Multispecies DAS Vessels

Date: October 20, 2000

Dear Multispecies Permit Holder:

This letter is to inform you that as of October 26, 2000, pursuant to 50 CFR 648.86 (a)(1)(iii), the daily haddock landing limit for vessels fishing under a multispecies day-at-sea (DAS) permit, is adjusted. The daily landing limit (5,000 lb per DAS) is suspended from 0001 hours on October 26, 2000, through 0001 hours on March 1, 2001. The maximum landing limit allowed per trip is retained at 50,000 lb per trip. Therefore, the amount on board will not be counted on a DAS basis but vessels are still subject to a landing limit of 50,000 lb per trip.

This adjustment is being enacted as specified in Framework 33 to provide the industry with the opportunity to harvest at least 75% of the total allowed catch (TAC) for the 2000 fishing year (TAC= 6,252 mt, 75% TAC = 4,689 mt).

This notice is authorized by the Regional Administrator of the National Marine Fisheries Service
