Notice
The quota period for the haddock bycatch allowance is based on the Northeast multispecies fishing year (May 1 – April 30), not the Atlantic herring fishing year (January 1 – December 31). Therefore, if the haddock bycatch quota is reached the resulting prohibition on fishing for, possessing, or landing herring in excess of 2,000 lb per trip in or from the Gulf of Maine/Georges Bank Herring Exemption Area would extend through April 30, 2011.
