In order to comply with data confidentiality requirements, discards for areas and/or gear types that only have 1 - 2 trips in a month will be aggregated with discards from preceding month(s) until the 3 trip minimum is met.
NOTE: This report uses audited observer data (March 2013 - February 2017) and preliminary observer data (March 2017 - present) for Closed Area I;  audited observer data (March 2014 - February 2017) and preliminary observer data (March 2017 - present) for Closed Area II; and the most recent 12 months of audited observer data (March 2016 - February 2017) for open areas.
These data are the best available to NOAA's National Marine Fishery Service (NMFS) when this report was compiled. Data for this report are supplied to NMFS from vessels via Vessel Trip Reporting and the Vessel Monitoring System, and dealers via Dealer Electronic Reporting. Data may be preliminary. Discrepancies with previous reports are due to corrections made to the database.
