NOAA Fisheries Announces 2019 Golden Tilefish Commercial Fishery Specifications

NOAA Fisheries is implementing golden tilefish quotas for the 2019 fishing year that we announced as projected quotas on November 7, 2017.The quotas are the same as in 2018.

Approved measures include acceptable biological catch (ABC), annual catch limit (ACL), and total allowable landings (TAL) for the individual fishing quota (IFQ) and incidental components of the commercial fishery.

Golden Tilefish Specifications for Fishing Year 2019

Acceptable Biological Catch: 742 mt
Annual Catch Limit: 742 mt
Individual Fishing Quota Total Allowable Landings: 705 mt (1,554,038 lb)
Incidental Total Allowable Landings: 33 mt (72,397 lb)

All other requirements remain the same.

We will provide a similar notice when the 2020 specifications are implemented prior to the November 1, 2019 start to the tilefish fishing year.
